Gas Fireplace Service, Repair and Installation

Why service a gas fireplace?

Gas fireplaces are a great source of heat in a power failure, offering comfort and old-world charm to an otherwise discomfort. Gas fireplaces also burn natural gas or propane and run most efficiently when kept in tune.

Poorly adjusted fireplaces, over time, can cause deposits and plug burner holes causing delayed ignition causing damage to the glass door, safety seals and the flue of the fireplace. The safety seal if deteriorated can allow harmful, undetectable gasses to enter your home.

Gas fireplaces usually run on millivolt systems. It is important to check the operation of these ignition systems during the check-up.

The burning of natural gas leaves mineral deposits on your glass door that will permanently etch the glass if not cleaned regularly. A very important part of the fireplace service is glass cleaning. Cleaning the glass allows for the heat and light to penetrate into the room effectively, adding to the ambiance that made you purchase the fireplace in the first place.

Gas fireplaces that are not serviced regularly can produce a black by-product called soot. Soot can permanently stain building exteriors.
